All of Milliken's Emerald True Foliar products are designed to produce excellent surface conditions - color, consistency, controlled growth, and turf quality - while also providing seaplant extract and other beneficial supplements for root growth, stress tolerance, and disease resistance.

True Foliar MgMn was developed for situations where foliar application of these elements is more efficient than soil application. True Foliar MgMn contains 6% Nitrogen plus 3.7% Sulfur, 2% Magnesium and 5% Manganese. Like all Emerald Isle True Foliars, it also contains a minimum of 10% proprietary seaplant extract.

Magnesium is a component of chlorophyll. It is also a critical element in several plant metabolic functions including cell respiration. It is a mobile element in the plant. Deficiencies tend to occur most frequently in acidic sandy soils with low CEC, or high pH soils. Removal of clippings can increase deficiencies. In soils with high calcium or phosphorous content, soil uptake of magnesium can be inhibited. Where liming is not effective, needed or desired, foliar applications of magnesium can be very effective.

Manganese is a critical element in photosynthesis. It is an enzyme activator, supports plant metabolism and chlorophyll synthesis. Deficiencies can occur in alkaline soils, soils high in calcium, and sand-peat soils. Cold weather and poor drainage can also inhibit absorption. Excess iron, sodium or potassium can also reduce manganese absorption. When these conditions exist, foliar applications can be extremely effective in restoring the correct balance of manganese in the plant.

Usage Guide

General Considerations: Fertilizer grades should be selected from the Emerald Isle Nutri-Rational Foliar line based on soil / tissue analysis and your own agronomic goals. Rates will vary, based on the same criteria. Apply Emerald Isle Nutri-Rational Foliars in the early morning or late afternoon for best results, and use a spray adjuvant for superior coverage. Emerald Isle Nutri-Rational Foliars are tank-mix compatible with a wide variety of professional turf products, but all tank-mix recipes should be jar-tested prior to batch mixing.

Warm Season Grasses: Apply 118-237 ml per 93 sq. meters (4-8 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft.) every 7-14 days, as needed to maintenance. Deficiencies may be corrected by doubling the normal maintenance rate per application. Use higher rate for fairway applications.

Cool Season Grasses: Apply 88-118 ml per 93 sq. meters (3-4 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft.) every 7-14 days, as needed to maintenance. Deficiencies may be corrected by doubling the normal maintenance rate per application. Use higher rate for fairway applications.

Mixing and Application: Apply Emerald Isle True Foliar MgMn in a minimum of 3.8 liters of water carrier per 93 sq. meters (1 U. S. Gallon per 1000 sq. ft.). Fill mix tank with half of required spray water, and turn on agitation. Measure Emerald Isle True Foliar product into tank, and add remaining water and other soluble materials. Add a defoaming agent if desired, and adjust pH of tank-mix to neutral if necessary.

Product Handling Guidelines

Storage and use: Store Emerald Isle Nutri-Rational Foliars in original containers at temperatures between 50^oF and 90^oF. Mix Emerald Isle Nutri-Rational Foliars with other materials only at time of application and in exact amounts required. To avoid contamination, do not return previously mixed product to its original container. Use all product within 12 months of original purchase date.
