True Foliar Ca (6-0-0) has been improved significantly. It has been redesigned to be more user-friendly and to be an easier addition to the Emerald Isle True Foliar Nutrition programs. It now mixes better with all other Emerald Isle True Foliars. It is also higher in nitrogen, which allows it to be substituted or alternated for True Foliar N in certain applications when used in the program. Finally, like all other Emerald Isle True Foliars, True Foliar N-Ca (15-0-0) now contains a minimum of 10% seaplant extract.

Calcium is an element required by the turf for cell division, as well as many very important cell functions. It a great supporting element, helping develop and move carbohydrates throughout the plant. Calcium is also critical in the absorption of other nutrients in the plant. Calcium is immobile in the plant and must be continuously supplied in order to help plants grow. Calcium is available in most soils, or as part of soil conditioners such as lime, dolomitic lime and gypsum.

Deficiencies tend to occur in sandy soils with low CEC and acidic or sodic soils. Where granular applications perform well, these are usually most cost effective in the spring or fall. However, in the summer months and where liming is not needed or is usually ineffective, a foliar application of calcium is recommended on a regular basis.

Foliar N-Ca 15-0-0 with 4% Ca Usage Guide

General Considerations: Fertilizer grades should be selected from the Emerald Isle Nutri-Rational Foliar line based on soil / tissue analysis and your own agronomic goals. Rates will vary, based on the same criteria. Apply Emerald Isle Foliars in the early morning or late afternoon for best results, and use a spray adjuvant for superior coverage. Emerald Isle Foliar Calcium may not be compatible with some phosphate fertilizers. All tank-mix recipes should be jar-tested for compatibility prior to batch mixing.

Warm Season Grasses: Apply 4-8 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. every 7-14 days. Application rate may be doubled to correct severe deficiencies. Use higher rate for fairway applications.

Cool Season Grasses: Apply 3-4 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. every 7-14 days. Application rate may be doubled to correct severe deficiencies. Use higher rates for fairway applications.

Mixing and Application: Apply Emerald Isle Nutri-Rational Foliar Calcium in a minimum of 2.0 gallons of water carrier per 1,000 sq. ft. Fill mix tank with half of required spray water, and turn on agitation. Measure Emerald Isle Foliar product into tank, and add remaining water and other compatible, soluble materials. Allow foliar product to dry on plant prior to irrigation.

Product Handling Guidelines

Storage and use: Store Emerald Isle Nutri-Rational Foliars in original containers at temperatures between 50oF and 90oF. Mix Emerald Isle Foliars with other compatible materials only at time of application and in exact amounts required. To avoid contamination, do not return previously mixed product to original container. Use all product within 12 months of original purchase date.
