True Foliar NPK (10-3-16) has been improved significantly. In addition to a general increase in the content of all macronutrients, this product now contains a phosphite source, derived from phosphorous acid. True Foliar NPK Phosphite has the most balanced analysis of commercially available phosphorous products, and like all Emerald Isle True Foliars, True Foliar NPK Phosphite contains a minimum of 10% of our proprietary seaplant extract, and it is the only phosphite product available that contains seaplant extract. Finally, we have added fulvic acid to this product to enhance the biostimulant properties of the seaplant extract. Research in which we have participated has indicated the value of phosphites (also known as phosphanates) in contributing to disease resistance, then breaking down into elemental phosphorous and becoming plant available as a nutrient. This new product allows for targeted foliar applications of phosphorous in forms that are held in the plant rather than leaching, with the added benefits of the other elements and the phosphites. Phosphorous is a mobile nutrient in the plant, and is a key factor in moving carbohydrates through the plant, particularly to the root system. Phosphorous supports all phases of plant growth from establishment to maturity to subsequent seed development. It is also involved in most of the plant metabolic functions. Elemental phosphorous will leach from the plant leaves if not readily consumed. Phosphorous applications are not needed as frequently as nitrogen since the element is more available to the roots. It is immobile in the soil and does not tend to leach. Regular soil tests can indicate plant needs for phosphorous applications. Bentgrasses tend to have deficiencies during summer stresses when roots are shallow and weak. Because cool season grasses respond more positively to phosphorous fertility applications than do warm season grasses, this is particularly valuable when overseeding over bermudagrasses. At low soil pH (<5) or high pH (>7.5), soil applied Phosphorous is typically unavailable to the plant, making the need for True Foliar applications even more critical.
Technical
Specs. Derived from: Ammonium Polyphosphate, Urea, Potassium Phosphite, Kelp Extract, Potassium Citrate. Usage Guide General Considerations: Fertilizer grades should be selected from the Emerald Isle Nutri-Rational Foliar line based on soil / tissue analysis and your own agronomic goals. Rates will vary, based on the same criteria. Apply Emerald Isle Nutri-Rational Foliars in the early morning or late afternoon for best results, and use a spray adjuvant for superior coverage. Emerald Isle Nutri-Rational Foliars are tank-mix compatible with a wide variety of professional turf products, but all tank-mix recipes should be jar-tested prior to batch mixing.
Warm Season Grasses: Apply 118-237 ml per 93 sq. meters (4-8 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft.) every 7-14 days, as needed to maintenance. Deficiencies may be corrected by doubling the normal maintenance rate per application. Use higher rate for fairway applications. Cool Season Grasses: Apply 88-118 ml per 93 sq. meters (3-4 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft.) every 7-14 days, as needed to maintenance. Deficiencies may be corrected by doubling the normal maintenance rate per application. Use higher rate for fairway applications. Mixing and Application: Apply Emerald Isle True Foliar NPK (10-3-16) in a minimum of 3.8 liters of water carrier per 93 sq. meters (1 U. S. Gallon per 1000 sq. ft.). Fill mix tank with half of required spray water, and turn on agitation. Measure Emerald Isle True Foliar product into tank, and add remaining water and other soluble materials. Add a defoaming agent if desired, and adjust pH of tank-mix to neutral if necessary. Product
